Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
